Membership Committee

The primary goal of Membership Committee (MemCom) is to increase membership at AEG, as well as to retain the existing membership. The committee chairs are Dr. Visty Dalal and Steven Tapanes. Memcom membership is open to any AEG member who is interested in helping AEG pursue our goals of increasing AEG membership, and enhancing and promoting member benefits

MemCom coordinates with AEG Headquarters, members, Chapters, and the Executive Council to increase and promote new membership of professionals and students throughout the country.  MemCom also coordinates efforts to promote the retention of its members and to bring back into the AEG fold members whose membership have lapsed. Such efforts are important to all members and non-members as they allow AEG to not only survive, but thrive.

Membership benefits at AEG include but are not limited to:

  • Access to a robust network of applied geoscience professionals
  • Registration discounts for Annual Meeting and additional forums, webinars, and symposiums
  • Access to AEG (and IAEG) publications (Insider, AEG News, and E&EG Journal, the Bulletin)
  • Continuing education credits applicable at state, national, and international levels
  • Participation/leadership opportunities in numerous operational and technical committees
  • Access to the AEG Job Board, etc.
  • AEG members can join IAEG (International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment) when they sign up for or renew their membership with AEG.
