AEG Sacramento Field Trip - Amador Central Railroad Geology Run

 

AEG Sacramento is excited to announce an upcoming field trip on Saturday, March 16th! This trip will inspect the geologic features along the line of the historic Amador Central Railroad in Amador County, California. A ticket to this event includes a seat on a motorized railcar as we journey from Ione to Martell. There will be numerous stops along the way to inspect and discuss geologic formations and listen to brief lectures by our distinguished guest speakers. This field trip is a companion event to the talk by Pete Holland at last week's AEG Sacramento Meeting.

• Field trip ticket cost is $75 ($78.65 after fees).
• Report time is 8:00 to 8:15 AM. Safety meeting is 8:30. Boarding and departure time will be 8:45.

• • Trip participants should bring their yellow or orange safety vest or one will be provided. Boots or sturdy ankle top shoes preferred. 
  • Bring hat, sunscreen, water bottle, snacks, etc. 
  • Porta potties are provided along the route.
  • Lunch option available.
  • Rockin Ratto Hot Dogs" - beef, turkey, polish, and veggie dog options available

In addition, ticket holders will need to print and sign two (2) liability release forms. These forms will be emailed ahead of the trip, or you can obtain them here. One is for Amador Central Railroad and the other is for AEG. Please print, sign, and bring with you for the trip.

Space is limited! This field trip was first offered to participants at last week's AEG meeting. As of this morning, there are approximately 15 seats remaining so be sure to sign up quick! This email is being sent out to AEG Sacramento members only today and will be distributed to a broader audience soon if open seats remain at the end of the week.
