ABSTRACT: This topic focuses on landslides (in the broadest sense of the term), including some general background about landslides, landslides I have worked on, and maybe a few others I have studied. With Jim Slosson, I worked on several expensive landslides in Malibu (Big Rock Mesa, Rambla Pacifico, Castellamare, etc.), the Abalone Cove landslide, the Thistle landslide in Utah, and the debris flows I talked about at AEG. I was also caught in a debris flow on a mountain road in the Karakoram-Himalaya in Baltistan, Pakistan. (I lived.)
