As a reminder, Thursday, November 11 - Geology Field Trip/Hike  – Debris Flow in Oak Creek Canyon, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
 
Led by Nick Saines and Rick Wooten
 
The Southern Nevada Chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists is having a field trip/geology hike to Red Rock Canyon, Thursday,November 11 to see a debris flow deposit in Oak Creek Canyon. Rick Wooten, the Jahns Lecturer is a debris flow expert.
  
The debris flow we will visit was deposited some time in the Holocene. It will be a total 3 mile hike with just a few hundred feet of elevation gain.
 
 
We will be meeting at 0715, Thursday, November 11 in the lobby of the Embassy Suites on University Center Drive (where we now have the dinner meetings) and at 0800 ½ mile south of the exit to the Scenic Drive on Route 159. We should return to the hotel by noon.
 
This field trip is free to members and non-members . Bring a snack, water, and dress for the weather.
