Licensure Resources
Share |

INTRODUCTION

The Licensure section was established by the AEG Licensure Committee to provide information and guidance in planning for and dealing with legislative issues.  It is designed to be a resource for AEG chapters as they organize their efforts in preparing licensure legislation and in defending their existing licensure laws.

This section is divided into three branches:  historical documents, guidelines for preparing licensure act, and ASBOG.

Additional resources can be found in the Members Only section HERE.

HISTORICAL DOCUMENT LINK
The historical document link contains historical documents concerning legislative and licensure, many prepared during and following licensure efforts.  Much of the literature accessed by this link was prepared by Bob Tepel during his decades-long efforts in support of licensure.

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING LICENSURE ACT LINK
The guidelines link contains model acts and how-to guidelines.  Guidelines include a number of references, including:

ASBOG LINK
The ASBOG website contains a wealth of useful and helpful information, such as lists and maps of state licensure programs, links to state websites, ASBOG’s model act, and a candidate handbook that provides detailed information on the ASBOG Fundamentals of Geology and Practice of Geology examinations, which are used nationally.  The exam blueprints are outlined in the appendix of this handbook.
