Purpose
The purpose of the Geology of the Cities of the World series is convey to practitioners and now graduate students, university faculty, planners, engineers, developers and government officials background information useful discovering and highlighting geological issues unique to a city and now including its metropolitan area. A spin off of the series is that the series contacts and papers have provided some dialog in discussing some issues to cities in other countries and illustrating solutions to a problem that may not have been thought of elsewhere.
Benefits of the Series
The series benefits include the sharing of information about specific geological issues, the use of references for looking for information that may be applicable to similar problems in a different setting and contacts in other cities with those working on similar problems in an urban or other setting.
